Resumen
This study within to the Surface Design Specialization course of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria covers knowledge from different sides of Design, focusing on the elaboration of a project that connects Surface Design to Textile Design, as there is a potential to be explored in implementation of projects based on the resources that these areas of Design allow. The realization of this project contemplates research and theoretical foundation focusing on different contents that relate to each other, according to the multidisciplinary character of the scope. Among the many practical applications of Surface Design in products, it was decided to invest in the sublimation technique combined with the use of women's scarves in the creation of prints with the Mandalas framework, since both are characterized by versatility, making this proposal viable. The methodology for carrying out and guiding creative development consists of 4 phases supported by tools that assist the project in a specific way and corresponding to the needs observed. The phases are divided into: Problem Analysis, Configuration and Concept, Generation of Alternatives and Evaluation, and Implementation of the Problem Solution. From this projectual plan, where the focus on the surface of the object is the most significant aspect, we aim to investigate possibilities that involve the technical process of sublimation as a basis for the creation of prints and the design of feminine scarves with a new proposal of fashion. References for the development of drawings for the textile surface are derived from the creation of Mandalas and their elements. In the materialization of this collection, we chose to use the creation of prints, which manifests itself as purpose and was composed of 24 prints divided into 6 options of patterns, choosing to use contrasting colors applied to the product to emphasize the chosen theme - Mandalas
