In order to increase the activity of fish farming and the possible environmental impacts generated, monitoring water quality is an essential assessment for sustainable development. This work aimed to monitor the water quality of a fish farm with polyculture of fish species, through the evaluation of environmental variables. The water monitoring was carried out monthly for eighteen months, in four different points: spring (P1), nursery (P2), monk in the nursery (P3) and final fish farming effluent (P4). The range of values of the physical and chemical variables was: total ammonia (0.09 to 1.38 mg / L), nitrate (0.07 to 0.75 mg / L), nitrite (0.04 to 0.27 mg / L) L), total nitrogen (0.28 to 3.30 mg / L), total hardness (14.67 to 46.47 mg / L CaCO3) total alkalinity (6.40 to 47.46 mg / L CaCO3), conductivity electric (38.04 to 132.25 µS.cm – 1), temperature (15.00 to 25.20 ºC), pH (6.14 to 7.71), dissolved oxygen (0.82 to 6.59 mg / L) and Biochemical oxygen demand - BOD (0.00 to 6.20 mg / L), total phosphorus (0.09 to 0.32 mg / L), turbidity (19.96 to 226.78 NTU) and total solids (150 to 1600 mg / L). There was microbiological contamination by total coliforms and Escherichia coli at all sampled points. Regarding the reuse of the effluent, it is classified as Class 4, according to CONAMA Resolution nº 357/2005, having as decisive variables the concentrations of total phosphorus and dissolved oxygen, and the water can be used only for navigation and landscape harmony. In addition, according to CONAMA Resolution No. 430/2011 and CONSEMA Resolution No. 355/2020, the effluent from fish farming, under study, can be disposed of directly in water bodies.
