This study exposes a comparative analysis of 204 SPT’s reports, aiming the patern formation and the identification of resulting tendencies between the Aoki-Veloso (1975) and Decourt-Quaresma (1978) methods. Through the beta version of the software Sisfundações, developed at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, the bearing capacity for each report had been calculated for drilling and augercast piles. Using logic/mathematic artifices, the correlations between the methods and the kind of soil, that was used in the projects, had been analyzed and the geotechnical bearing capacity obtained with both methods had been compared in different soils samples. Therefore, a simple comparison between the value of lateral, point and total resistance for the semi-empirical methods had been done, obtaining as a result, for each SPT, the biggest numerical values. When the used soil is sandy, the biggest resulting values are due to the Aoki-Veloso (1975) method. However, the clay soil samples demonstrated a tendency of bigger values for the Decourt-Quaresma (1978) method, except for the point resistance in augercast piles, that the results show the Aoki-Velloso (1975) method. The silty samples showed results with variations according to the predominance of material. Nevertheless, for the totality of silty samples considered, there is a tendency to be higher for results with the Decourt-Quaresma (1978) method. Finally, mixed samples showed undefined patterns.
