This study aimed to diagnose and analyze some public schools in central city of Palmas-TO, in its different segments, whether they have autonomy and freedom of action and can be considered democratic schools. The study sample was comprised of principals, teachers, students and parents. The material used for data collection consisted of questionnaires specific to the various segments of the school community, containing individual questions. After analyzing the results, we concluded that the management of schools has a good relationship with teachers, students and also with parents. Soon the majority of schools surveyed have a Democratic Administration as proposed, where people who are part of the school community have the autonomy and freedom of action.
