Brasil Sorridente: a política nacional de saúde bucal que transforma o modelo tradicional de atenção básica no modelo de atenção integral

The National Politics of Buccal Health – Brasil Sorridente is a pattern of integral
attention which provides prevention, promotion, and health recovery. It has promoted
reorganization of practices and an attention net to health, extension and qualification the
access to basic attention services in buccal health, mainly by Buccal Health Team (BHT) in
Strategy Family Health (EFH) and specialized attention in Buccal Health (Dental Specialties
Center and Dental Prosthesis Regional Laboratory), regulating oneself on principles and
directives of Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). The aim of this work is to present and analyze
the documents that regulate this politics. This assignment will be able for dentists and public
administrator who do not have the implementation of BHT. The used method was
bibliographic survey on elaborated legislation by Ministry of Health. BHT’s work process to
base oneself on principles of universality, equity, integrality of attention, teamwork and
interdisciplinary, focus on centralized attention in the territory – family – community,
humanization of attention, responsibilization and link. The regulation of SUS is in constantly
transformation principally through administrative directive. Keeping oneself up to date is an
obligation of a public administrator for a correct application of politics and financial incentive
available that can contribute to improve the health condition of population buccal health.
Brasil Sorridente is an important improvement in Brazilian public health, but there is still to
much to do to reach, in fact, the integral attention and this improvement of the index of buccal health, quality of life and welfare
