Resumen
The usage of cutaneous flaps is of easy applicability and has a great importance in the
solution of skin wounds, mainly in places of little cutaneous elasticity, such as the distal
region of members. The ability and creativity of the surgeon are of great importance in the use
of different existent techniques, even in the use of a combination of them, aiming at a total
occlusion of a determined wound as well as the recovering of the cosmetic aspect of the
patient. The correct application of the technique and the correct handling of the patient are
essential in the success of their application. This monography has the objective of reviewing
the literature which refers to the cutaneous pedicles, reviewing the different procedures and
their applicability in veterinary medicine in order to solve cutaneous wounds of difficult
occlusion. The case report of a toraxic bipediculated cutaneous flap aiming a transposition of
skin to the anterior member is exemplified later in this work.
