Psicologia ambiental: uma revisão sobre a importância do comportamento pró-ambiental

Abstract

Considering human behavior as responsible for several of today's environmental problems, the present work aims to deepen the understanding of pro-environmental behavior through a bibliographic review of scientific productions about this topic, reviewing and analyzing the main factors that lead an individual to reevaluate and modify his or her behavior in order to contribute to sustainable development. Through the interdisciplinarity between the areas of environmental psychology and environmental education, it is possible to reach a consensus on how different life experiences, habits, values, levels of awareness, and education affect the development of environmental awareness and perspective in a person. The literature review that was conducted analyzed 13 articles published from 2016 to 2021, addressing topics such as sustainable practices, environmental education and pro-environmental behavior itself, in order to contribute to the characterization and development of concepts of the interaction between people and the environment.
