Bidirectional DC-DC converters are essential components for the integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems in the electrical grid. This work shows the process of choice, control design and simulation of a bidirectional DC-DC converter following predetermined design parameters aiming the connection of batteries to a photovoltaic generation system. Simulation results using PSIM are shown as well as the simulation of the
converter in a Hardware-in-the-Loop environment with implementation of its modulation and controls in a microcontroller.
