Introduction: The hospital accreditation process can be seen as a potential to leverage the quality of services provided. Thus, elementary managerial action tends to contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives and also to the continuous improvement of services. Objective: to identify accreditation and its interface with the quality of care in hospital organizations. Method: The method adopted for the study is the integrative literature review, using the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), through the Virtual Library in Health (BVS). Results: The initial sample consisted of 29 articles, being 2 MedLine, 27 LILACS, these two results found in the VHL. After this refinement, 5 references remained. The results show that accreditation is an element of quality in hospital care that presents changes in the organization, being a strategy used to strengthen the relationship between the team and the patient. Accreditation, when well implemented, helps in the quality of processes, reflecting on the organization's productivity, improving operational and financial results and its services. Conclusion: It is observed that accreditation is a tool that attributes numerous advantages to health services, as it is a certification that improves the quality of patient care.
