The paving branch is constantly developing, seeking to update its techniques adjusted to the preservation of the environment, thus improving the conditions of execution and quality of the mixtures, becoming increasingly popular. Among these techniques, warm mix asphalt (WMA) bring a positive impact and several benefits when compared to conventional hot mix asphalt. The use of warm mix asphalt allows the reduction of manufacturing and compaction temperatures usually used in hot mix asphalt. As the objective of this research, the behavior of warm mix asphalt, using conventional binder and surfactant additives, was analyzed from laboratory tests. Thus, the characterization tests of the stone materials carried out approved the use of these granular materials in the mixture and they are following (as DAER A range). Dosed by the Marshall methodology, it was possible to determine the percentage of asphalt binder used and after the molded specimens, stability/creep tests were performed. Finally, still as a methodology in this research, were submitted to the following tests: Diametral Tensile Strength (RT) and Resilience Module (MR). As a result, the compaction temperature reduction of 15°C and 30°C of the reference mixture, in the different compositions with the additives used, brought adequate results and values very close to the conventional binder. The values found for RT and MR are in accordance with the literature and the stone materials used have satisfactory characteristics, and can be used in the mixture without the need for adjustment. In this way, the benefits of warm mix are very advantageous and as proven in this study, the surfactant additives evaluated are two options presents in the market.
