Resumen
Women, for a long time, have been silenced by men for expressing their rights, participating in public policies and having the condition to decide on their body. In the literature it was no different, the writing was only restricted to white men of high society. However, with the advent of feminist manifests, among other social, cultural, and economic issues, this has transformed itself, linking women directly to these powers. As a result, in the present work, we sought to manifest the historical context of the beginning of the feminist movement, and of the black feminist movement, listing the ideas according to the representation of the white woman and the black woman in the literature that were fundamental for the female empowerment. Laurence Hallewell specifies that knowing a nation through its editing can be very revealing, since we are how we express ourselves, it also states that the book serves to give literary expressions to cultural and ideological values. With this, the objective of the research was succeeded through the method used, case study, to analyze the work of Carolina Maria de Jesus, Quarto de despejo - diário de uma favelada (1960), seeking to investigate the passages described by the writer, if any Feminist, because of the conditions in which she found herself. It was observed that regardless of class, ethnicity and gender, Carolina was able to break stereotypes related to Brazilian literature.
