Resumen
This experimental project had as main objective to hold meetings to develop educommunication actions and thereby discuss gender and sexuality issues in high schools, specifically with third year classes, using the audiovisual as an instigator of the debate on these previously selected themes, which were the violence of gender and LGBT issues, and with this, get out of the university and do something outside for the local community. Through this, using theories of educommunication, we sought to stimulate a citizen education and a better understanding of the media, which we can perceive that occurred thanks to the application of participant group discussion and observation techniques. The main theories used in this work were those of educommunication and those involving gender, sexual diversity and education. Using audiovisual as a teaching method was also a fundamental part of the meetings held, since it helped the students to understand the topics and to debate, as pointed out by themselves in the analysis of the project at the end of the activities.
