This work has the aim to develop an algorithm for power flow calculation in distribution systems using Newton-Rapshon method (NR). This methodology have many advantages in front of others methods, handing with distributed generation and ring configuration. The methodology showed in this work are based in what was explained by J .Arrillaga e C. P. Arnold (1983) and the union of the distribution systems knowledges of W. H. Kersting (2001) and R. D. Zimmerman (1995). The matrix method formulation contributed to get great results in three-phase distributed systems. With the objective to identify the force of the algorithm developed in MATLAB®, the IEEE 13 bus was tested with all the challenges that the distribution systems can bring to the power flow tools.
