Analgesia pós-operatória com calcitonina de salmäo epidural: Estudo preliminar

The authors studied patients ASA I and II which were submitted to hysterectomy. The patients were allocated in 2 groups, in one of then was administered calcitonin 100 UI into the epidural space before the beginning of the anesthesia. The intensity of post-operative pain was evaluated with an oral scale.After the first 2 hours in the post-operative period the pain was lessevere in the calcitonin group in all evaluation moments, with statistically significant differences after 25 hours.The amount of analgesics drugs was smaller in the calcitonin group in the following periods: between 7 and 12 hours and 25 hours.The number of patients who received analgesics drugs was significantly smaller in the calcitonin group till 72 hours in the post operative period.
