Resumen
Raman scattering of light from the plane surface of antiferromagnetic chromium is discussed
in terms of conventional second-order time-dependent perturbation theory. The scattering efficiency
as a function of frequency and temperature is calculated from the scattering of light by
one-electron, one-hole, and electron-hole pair excitations. It is shown that the unphysical divergence
of the scattering cross section for the photon energy transfer equal to twice the antiferromagnetic
energy gap found by Kwok, Woo, and Jha is removed by taking properly into account
the statistical coherence factors.
