Demonstrar a importância da organização da Memória Institucional capitaneada pelo Instituto de Tecnologia de Pernambuco (ITEP). Se configura em uma pesquisa-ação, com caráter exploratório, através de uma abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, utilizando o questionário como técnica de coleta de dados. Os resultados apresentam uma visibilidade que o trabalho se apropriou no Instituto, despertando sobre a importância de preservar a memória institucional, na tentativa de despertar a consciência da instituição e possibilitar trocas de experiências com outras instituições. Percebe-se que esta ação refletiu uma dimensão para a construção de um lugar de memória no ITEP, valorizando a prática da preservação dos documentos técnicos, e consequentemente a implantação de uma cultura de memória. O caminho ainda é longo, mas que, juntamente com a conscientização de todos para a importância de preservar informações que refletem historicamente a Instituição, é provável que o cenário mude e a valorização do tema dessa pesquisa seja percebido e culturalmente modificado dentro do ambiente Institucional.Demonstrate the importance of the organization's institutional memory captained by ITEP. Is configured in an action research, with exploratory, through a quantitative and qualitative approach, using the questionnaire as a data collection technique. The results show a visibility that the work has appropriated the Institute, awakening about the importance of preserving the institutional memory in an attempt to raise awareness of the institution and enable the exchange of experiences with other institutions. It is noticed that this action reflected a dimension to the construction of a memory place in ITEP, valuing the practice of preservation of technical documents, and consequently the implementation of a memory culture. The road is still long, but that, along with the awareness of all of the importance of preserving information that historically reflect the institution is likely to change the scenario and this research theme appreciation is perceived and culturally modified within the institutional environment.
