CAPES This research aims to list in Function Studium the presence of five conceptions related to the notion of function, and to understand how they are articulated in the software. To elucidate the term conception, we use the definition proposed by Balacheff (1995), when he describes the cK¢ model as an articulation between concept, knowledge and conception, the latter being proposed by the authors as the junction of four sets (P, R, L, Σ) where P represents the problems, R the operators, L the representation system and Σ the control structure. Anchored in the three main systems of representation that permeate the history of the concept of function – law of correspondence, symbolic expressions and graphic object, Balacheff (2001) e Gaudin (2005) propose for the characterization of the design Function: Table design, algebraic design, relationship design and object design. The designs have been studied and thought out so that they can be observed in Function Studium. For this, an intervention was carried out with students of the course of Licenciatura of Mathematics of the UFPE. We proposed an activity with three situations created by the authors, in order to list the conceptions articulated by the students and the tools of the software used for this articulation. In addition to the intervention, a software analysis of Casyopée, GeoGebra and Modellus was also carried out, using the activities. The students did not respond to the activity situations using Function Studium, because it is the software developed in the LEMATEC group of the EDUMATEC program of UFPE. In the analysis of other software, only GeoGebra presented at least one resolution process for each situation. For the analysis of the intervention, the responses of three groups of students using Function Studium were used. In general, they did not encounter any difficulties in answering the questions. Not being able to use representative algebraic expressions as a table entry and the difference between points and commas for decimals were some of the limitations diagnosed in the Function Studium software during the intervention. The analysis of the Casyopée, GeoGebra and Modellus software, in parallel with the analysis of the intervention, made it possible to identify certain needs for the next updates of the Function Studium software.
