Contemporary women are emerging in a society that still has an archaic and patriarchal social system, which relegates to the female individual patterns of behavior that involve dress, body, and beauty as a whole. While living in technological times and freedom of speech, there are still many minorities who suffer from the behavior of generations taught how to live and be in society. Thinking about this, the present work proposes the dialogue and description about the place of the current plus size woman, historically discussing the evolution of the female body over the centuries until we reach a society that values the thinness, while "despising" the fat guy In addition to the historical information, the present work uses semiotic analyzes made on the covers of the magazines Manequim and Molde e Cia, starting from the methodology of the author Gemma Penn, that deals with the evaluation of still images through semiotics, therefore, both the media as fashion, are treated in this research as one of the responsible for the propagation of patterns for the female audience, sometimes dictating an endless continuum of female beauty, discrediting women who do not have the standard shared by both.
