CNPq In the present dissertation, after a brief introduction and the theoretical basis, we present a combined investigation by NMR and luminescence spectroscopy of the solution structure of anionic lanthanide complexes in several solvents. The NMR analyzed data of the complex suggest that its structure is modified while the counter anion (organic cation of ionic liquid) moves away or close the complex in solvents of greater or lesser polarity. This structural change was also observed in the emission spectra after the analysis of the 5D0 → 7F0 transition of the Eu3+ ion in the studied solvents, which corroborated the data obtained by NMR. From the nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) and pseudocontact shift (PCs) measurements, we observed interactions between the ionic contact pairs and the non-contact ion pairs in the analyzed solvents. By studying the dynamics of the complexes we verified through the NMR experiments, in different magnetic fields and with variable temperature, that the complexes have fluxional isomers. The changes in the distances between the ionic pairs in solution generated a direct impact on the increase of the luminescence of the Eu3+ complex. In addition, we synthesized a mixed K[Sm(BTFA)(DBM)(NTA)(TTA)] complex using the binder mixing approach, which proved to be the most luminescent in the literature.
