Resumen
The central objective of this research was to investigate how nursing technicians in
presumed situation of psychosocial risk make the management of internal aspects
concerning their subjectivity, as well as the available external resources in the exercise
of their professional activity. The workers have been increasingly confronted with
situations where the level of demand regarding work activity increases, while the
individual and collective resources available to address them decrease. In its classic
definition, psychosocial risks are a number of aspects that affect workers and are usually
related to the occurrence of stress, psychological or sexual harassment and other forms
of violence, leading to several manifestations of subjective distress as illness, depression
and even suicide. This work, in turn, is aligned to a counter-hegemonic perspective of
psychosocial risk understanding that the risk can not be restricted to consideration of
external stress factors, but must necessarily take into account the management of such
stressors by the individual involved. The proposal is to investigate what margin that
workers in psychosocial risk collective situation have to effectively perform a job that
they themselves assess how well done, in addition to developing the practice. The
research described herein combined quantitative and qualitative methodological
approaches, non-sequential manner, including two studies in dialogue: 1. A first
epidemiological study that investigates the survey type from the JCQ questionnaire (Job
Content Questionnaire)-KARASEK-BRAZIL and one Socio-Demographic and
functional Sheet, with a representative sample of the reference population. 2. A second
study was the clinical approach to the work activity of two nursing technicians, through
instruction to double. The integration of the analysis of the two studies it was
established that the occupation in question can effectively be characterized as submitted
collectively the context of psychosocial risk, which mobilizes forms of greater or lesser
effectiveness for individual management of those situations. Data from the first study
did not confirm that the professional researched gender can be considered in risk
situation. However, the sample has an internal bias demonstrated by the existence of
two groups characterized by different levels of work-related stress. The level of
collective stress evidenced by the instrument does not seem very different from what
would be obtained from a large sample of occupation, but this would need to go through
an empirical verification. The data from the second study, moreover, show that the
power to act on demand occupation consideration both external aspects, the aspects
related to the shape of the individual deal with those aspects. These data support, so a
design perspective of psychosocial risk that exceeds the hygienist approach of limiting
this risk to external factors related to work organization.
