Resumen
Water is the main resource to promote economic and social development in all the world. As consequence of this, find ways to fill communities with water is essential, since a long time.
Despite of the fact that this necessity came from a long past, only now, areas of the Northeast of Brazil are being provided by water with the Project of São Francisco River Linking. This project is divided in two sectors, north and east, and the North sector is responsible to attend demands of the Brazilian state called Rio Grande do Norte and is also object of this study.
As consequence of long periods without water, alternatives to maintain as much water as possible are being now object of studies in areas that the river linking attend; however, to find alternatives that maintain considerable amounts of water, firstly, the causes of water depletion have to be found, and for the Northeast of Brazil, one of the main causes is evaporation.
To estimate the impact of the evaporation in constructions like the Project of São Francisco River Linking, the variable that have to be considered is the area exposed to the sun activity. This area will be function of series of other variables and will be found with the use of Manning’s equation.
By estimating this evaporation, the amount of water required by each state involved in this project will be more precise. By doing this, the payment for the water will be fair and right.
