A jornada de um compositor: do bottom-up ao top-down

Abstract

It presents the development of the author's compositional practice in the form of composition memoirs. The main objective is to report the displacement of the author’s creative making, which was more focused on the manipulation of materials through techniques, for an approach focused on goals and principles. It presents a theoretical foundation organized according to the instances of the model of accompaniment of the compositional process proposed by Silva (2010a), listing Goals, Principles, Materials and Techniques that bring together general elements used in the compositions presented here. Presents the memoirs of the works Uirapuru, for recorder quintet, Algoritmico, for brass quintet, Hircus, for cellos quintet, Tapioca, for brass quintet, Momentos Eternos, for mixed ensemble, Mandioca, for woodwinds trio and Autoctones, for solo saxophone. The memoirs of the works were made based on the model by Silva (2010a), listing the instances of the model as sections that describe the creative path of each work and, finally, conclusive comments on each composition.
