Resumen
For Geography Teaching, awaken in the student the interest and possibility of seeing the world through its concreteness and subjectivities, becomes an essential condition to form an individual who sees in the world the materialization of what is also learned in the school space, and thus contribute to the re-signification of concepts and new learning. In this task of teaching to read the world, Geography in a privileged way, has innumerable ways (theoretical and methodological) to do it in a unique way, being one of them the Field Work, that when being transposed to that of the Geography Teaching happens to be denominated Study of the Environment. In this way, the text presented here is the result of reflections built during the subjects of Geography Teaching I of Pedagogy Graduation of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte and aims to discuss the contributions brought by the Study of the Environment in the initial years of Elementary School. The study is based on authors of Geographic and Pedagogy, as well as on the official documents of education – Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (National Curricular Parameters, BRAZIL, 1998) and the Base Nacional Comum Curricular for Elementary School (National Curricular Common Base, BRAZIL, 2018).
