The helical piles foundation system consist of metal structures inserted into the soil by rotation along its longitudinal axis, with satisfactory performance when working under compressive and tensile loads. This type of foundation is widely used in transmission lines, telephone towers, or any other structure to request the foundation to draw effort. However, there are situations that limit the length of the anchorage, occurrences of the local soil with low bearing capacity, it would be necessary to reach high depths for a satisfactory anchorage, as well as in the presence of boulder which would limit the length of anchorage, both situations would difficult and quite costly. Considering the above, the present research sought to evaluate the load capacity of this type of foundation in a sandy soil with the use of a geogrid type geosynthetic reinforcement, comparing a load test to the traction without the use of reinforcement and then, with the reinforcement. A reduced physical model developed by Chaves (2016) on a reduced scale (1:3) was used in the shallow condition, simulating the situations mentioned above.
