Resumen
The cosmetics market tends to grow more and more, especially when it comes to green cosmetics which are natural, organic, vegan and cruelty free products. This is because the population has become more aware of the harmful impact of synthetic products. Consequently, companies have sought innovations in biotechnological resources to minimize impacts on the environment and on people's health. An example of a biotechnological resource that is currently growing is the use of enzymes in these products, both because they are chemical catalysts and have low environmental impact, in addition, they are more economically viable because they have advantageous characteristics. Enzymes such as proteases, lipases and telomerases are being highlighted in the cosmetic environment as they have applications for anti-cellulite treatment, cell aging, among others. This review article aims to highlight the application of these enzymes in cosmetic products as they show to be potentially promising due to their properties and advantages.
