dc.description.abstractLubrication is defined as the process of adding lubricant between two surfaces that are in relative motion, in order to reduce friction and wear. Maintenance, on the other hand, is the combination of technical and administrative actions that are focused on maintaining the equipment performing its required function. Thus, a lubrication plan is the combination of the lubrication and maintenance concepts, as there will be different lubrication actions to prolong the useful life of the equipment. This work aims to develop a lubrication plan applied to the biomass boiler of a textile industry. Through field visits and technical materials supplied by the manufacturers, it was possible to map the necessary points for lubrication, select the lubricants and define which activities were needed to carry out the lubrication. In this setting, it was essential to section the boiler and its supply systems at different levels, to improve the planning organization and facilitate the comprehension by mechanics to carry out the lubrication. It was identified 63 application points for re-lubrication activities, temperature, and level verification. Two lubricants were used for these points, and a manual grease pump was utilized for the applications. In total, 2008 lubrication plan activities were scheduled for the period of one year.
