Resumen
Data shows that the majority of brazilian’s mortality is linked to eating habits. Food and Nutrition Education (FNE) is one of the main strategies to promote adequate and healthy food in response to this scenario. Within the school environment, the activities of FNE have been developed mainly by Nutrition. In this article by narrative revision will be discussed the importance of the insertion of Pedagogy in this theme. It was developed a historical and conjunctural overview of the public feeding policies, contemplating the governmental normative instruments that support the FNE in the school context, presented practical experiences involving the promotion of adequate and healthy food in schools and, finally, underlining the importance of the work inter, multi and transdisciplinary between Pedagogy and Nutrition. It is suggested that basic knowledge on the School Feeding National Program, from official informational documents about adequate and healthy food, and the opportunity to work in an integrated manner with other professionals aiming to the development of FNEs actions, even during formation, possibiliting the insertion of this professional into the agenda of promote adequate and healthy food in the school environment.
