Resumen
This research deals with an investigation regarding the process of creation that
is developed regarding the costumes of the scenic productions of the Cruor
Contemporary Art Coalition. In order to do so, this study dialogues with the
concept of Upcycling coined by Alison Gwilt, connecting also to Anne Anicet,
whose technique has been adopted as a creative perspective which refers
mainly to fashion and that is applied to the developing of costumes, having as
main references the dialogue between the life and work of the Mexican plastic
artist Frida Kahlo, the Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, the French multiple
artist Antonin Artaud and the Brazilian artist Artur Bispo do Rosário,
investigating how these references dialogue with fashion and the construction
of suits for scenes. Since it is a study that involves the author's own practice as
an artist-costume designer, this study follows an action research methodology,
more specifically from David Tripp emphasizing the question of the interaction
between the subject and his research object, having this is mind, facing this
action as an artist-researcher and adopting as a method a research diary, in
addition to the photographic and video recording, and typical techniques of the
fashion field and the creation of costumes such as moulage and sketch. This
study starts with an introduction about the trajectory of approach to the object of
study linked to the dialogue between fashion and costume under the
perspectives of Fayga Ostrower, Fausto Viana, Adriana Leite and Lisette
Guerra, as well as Stanislavski and Lipovetsky. Next is presented the research
object that is developed in the coalition entitled Cruor Arte Contemporânea
presenting the methodological path that was covered. Finally, there are issues
related to the scope of the process of creation of the costumes in the
Laboratory of Creation, Execution and Maintenance of Costumes for the Scene
and the approach of the concept of Upcycling configured as the main creative
and methodological action, bringing the approach of sustainability “(Lou) Curese",
which has its process documented in the last chapter.
