Resumen
This is a research on the environmental awareness of the students of the Administration course of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN. The theoretical framework used brings together the concepts of sustainability, environmental awareness, waste and environmental actions. The objectives were: to trace the socioeconomic profile, to point out the waste disposal, to relate the origin of the products to consumption and to point out the relationship between individual conscience and environmental actions. The research is descriptive exploratory type. The universe was the students of the course of administration. The non-probabilistic sample of the accidental type was composed by pre-concluding students. A questionnaire-type research instrument with closed questions was elaborated and divided into four dimensions: socioeconomic profile, waste disposal, product origin and environmental actions. As a result, we have that most of the interviewees are male, young, middle class, trainees and who intend to take public competition at the conclusion of the course. Batteries, electronic waste and oils in general have a higher level of importance for disposal. That there was no major concern regarding the origin of the products, despite the fact that industrialized foods, natural foods and paper presented greater concern. That the respondents considered relevant actions in favor of the environment, highlighting the actions of giving correct destination to the electronic waste, giving correct destination to batteries and using products that favor sustainability, as the most relevant. The study concluded that the students surveyed bring with them to a greater or lesser degree, environmental awareness in their formation.
