Resumen
The root canal filling phase is considered fundamental for the entire endodontic treatment
process to be successful. Thereunto, the choice of the correct endodontic root canal sealers is
crucial to obtain a quality of treatment. To be ideal, the root canal sealers must show a
satisfactory physicochemical property, among them is the flow capacity. Therefore, the aim of
this work was to evaluate the flow capacity through the ISO 6876/2012 standard of AH Plus jet
sealer in different ways of manipulation´s handling (conventional with spatula; mixing tip; and
mixing tip complemented by the spatula) using the beginning or the end of the tube. An amount
of 0.05mL of the material was dispensed on the center of a glass plate with dimensions of 40
mm x 40 mm x 5 mm, after 180 seconds of the beginning of the manipulation, another identical
plate of 20g±2 and a weight of 100g were placed on the material, totaling a weight of 120g±2
for 10 minutes. After this time, the mass was removed. The largest and smallest diameters of
the disc formed by the material were measured using a digital caliper. The mean obtained from
the performance of three tests for each group was considered as the experimental flow value.
The six groups tested showed a satisfactory mean flow rate above 20 mm. The groups where
the self-mixing tip was used showed higher flow values. At the end of the study, it is possible
to conclude that the three forms of manipulation of the AH Plus jet sealer complies with the
criteria established by ISO 6876/2012; the groups that were manipulated with the self-mixing
tip showed higher flow values; the groups that used the final half of the tube showed low
consistency after handling.
