Resumen
Researches that seek alternative materials and bring new technologies to the civil construction market are increasingly recurring and, in this context, the possibility of studying the destination of waste generated in banana culture arises. The present study aimed to evaluate the pozzolanic potential of banana tree leaf ash (CFB) by the methods of Portland cement performance index at 28 days - NBR 5752:2014 and electrical conductivity. The ashes were produced in a muffle furnace at temperatures of 450ºC and 900ºC and subjected to different grinding times, of 1 and 3 hours each. For chemical and physical characterization of the CFB, real specific mass analysis, X-ray fluorescence and diffraction (XRF and XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and organic matter content were analyzed. The results showed that all ashes have properties of pozzolanic material, concluding that the optimum temperature and grinding time for material production were, respectively, 900ºC and 1 hour.
