Resumen
Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus has become one of the most common carrier diseases in the world. This fact corresponds, mainly, to sedentary habits of life adopted by the population. In this way, the cardiovascular system is directly affected, causing limitations in life activities. Objective: to analyze and compare the glycemic behavior and functional capacity of hypertensive individuals with diabetes and only hypertensive individuals after field tests. Methodology: This is a clinical, cross-sectional study with a convenience sample, developed at the Laboratory of Human Physiology and Physiology of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairi (FACISA). Twenty-four (24) subjects were divided into two groups: the first group consisted of hypertensive individuals with diabetes (n: 11) and the second group was hypertensive (n: 12). Both groups performed the anthropometric data collection, the glycemic tests, the Six-Minute Walk Test (TC6) and the Incremental Walk Test (TCI). Results: There was a statistically significant difference for Group 1 (111.6 ± 13.61 x 97.5 ± 13.04, respectively, p = 0.002). While for Group 2, there was no statistically significant difference (175.5 ± 13.6 x 161.1 ± 13, respectively, p = 0.075). Regarding functional capacity, there was no statistical difference according to the 6MWT, however, there was significance from the ICF between the groups (p = 0.008). Conclusion: It was possible to conclude that the execution of the field tests provided a decrease in the glycemic values, as well as identification in the decrease of the functional capacity of the individuals studied.
