Resumen
A solar cooker was manufactured and studied for concentration aimed at cooking food. The manufacturing, assembly and operationalization processes of the studied solar cooker will be presented, whose parabolic concentrating surface was a scrap of the parabolic antenna. The use of the disused satellite dish greatly facilitated the manufacture of the solar cooker since it was not necessary to manufacture a mold for the experimentation of the reflected concentrating parable. At the end of the solar cooker manufacturing process, cooking tests were performed on some foods from a typical meal of a northeastern family. The solar cooker proved to be viable to produce a tested food cooking, in competitive times with other stoves already manufactured and tested in the LMHES (UFRN Hydraulic and Solar Machines Laboratory). The main characteristics of the solar cooker studied are its manufacturing processes, assembly and operation, and can be passed on to people of social and intellectual levels, contributing to a policy of replacement of firewood, which causes damage to the environment.
