Resumen
College students have sleep problems. Considering the internalization of the universities, it is necessary to study the sleep / wake pattern of university students from the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate if the weekly class time, year, course type and chronotype influence the hours of sleep and wake, social jetlag, duration and quality of sleep, and daytime sleepiness of university students. The study was developed with students from the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairi, located in Santa Cruz-RN, through the application of questionnaires. The majority of the students (77%) presented poor sleep quality and 48% excessive daytime sleepiness, and the third-grade students presented worse sleep quality. Students tended to be matutinal (36%). The individual with evening chronotype sleeps and wakes up later in the week and at the weekend, and presents Jetlag and MSFc higher compared to morning and middle. Students in the Physiotherapy course agree earlier in the week to students in other courses, and have MSFc (59min) and wake-up time at the weekend (1: 13min) earlier than students in Psychology. Individuals with a longer workload sleep later in the week. Therefore, university students are part of a group that presents sleep problems, even though they are in less urbanized contexts.
