Resumen
This project was designed for the use of the potential of natural sources, more specifically sun and wind, in the Rio Grande do Norte to generation electricity through an Hybrid Power Generation System - HPGS connected to COSERN network, composed of an array of photovoltaic panels and a wind turbine with the use of an Electromagnetic Frequency Regulator-EFR. Thus, the Campus Macau was chosen depending on the physical space available in academic unit of UFRN and the favorable characteristics of sun and wind in the city of Macau-RN. Using data of solar radiation, wind speed, load curve, and turbine specifications, photovoltaic panels specifications and battery specifications, and by a selection with use the Scilab software, version 5.5.2, academic papers and specific technical literature was founded a satisfactory solution so that the project meets the demand of the campus, primarily with the HPGS, and the generation options only for the network COSERN and the possible diesel generator, but considered situations of exception. The project consists of five plants, descriptive memorial and relationship material, and will recorded in the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of RN State – CREA-RN, as academic work.
