Resumen
Orthoses, prostheses and special materials are part of a broad category of materials,
with an extremely diverse universe of products used in performing medical, dental and
physiotherapy procedures, as well as in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation or
monitoring of patients. The management of such materials permeates a large part of
hospital processes, from scheduling the procedure to accounting information, through
logistics, consumption and billing. This flow contributes to its assistance and marketing
characteristics to be considered complex, since it involves patients, doctors, health
professionals, manufacturers, suppliers and managers. This context raises the need to
develop strategies in order to improve the management of the use of orthoses,
prostheses and special materials. That said, the development of an information system
was listed as a strategy to contribute to the management of these inputs at the Onofre
Lopes University Hospital, which presents difficulties that make the current
management process fragile, insecure and subject to many failures that harm the
institution and the patient himself or herself. The objective of this work is to design,
develop and implement an information system to support the management of orthoses,
prostheses and special materials. The development process was based on a structure
defined in three phases in an interactive and cyclical way. The tasks carried out during
the first phase, called planning and conception, include a literature review,
familiarization with the current workflow working in the hospital; defining a new flow and
meeting requirements. The second phase is related to analysis of project requirements,
the design and its implementation. The third and last phase consists of preliminary
validation and presentation of the ready to use software. The developed system feature
in its architecture the medical request in its own digital form and the direction of
requested materials according to the Management System of the Table of Procedures,
medicines and OPM of the Unified Health System and current legislation, the
authorization for the use of the material issued by the manager, control of the waiting
list, scheduling of procedures, availability, reservation and dispensing of material on the
day of the procedure. According to the work carried out, we can draw some conclusions:
after the familiarization with the current work process undergoing at HUOL, it was
possible to identify critical problems that were addressed by the implementation of the
system. A workflow was developed applicable to the reality of HUOL that allows the
definition of the specific performance of each professional, guiding the necessary
interactions. The Haima software was conceived, developed and implemented
preliminarily, proving to be viable and capable of meeting the proposed requirements,
without major failures.
