Resumen
The adoption of lean practices is currently widely used in organizations that seek a competitive performance based on low costs. This type of production strategy has at its core the constant search for waste reduction, seeking to eliminate any activity that does not add value to products or services. As this system does not work with fixed goals, but with the search for best results, evaluating the degree of implementation or application of LP creates some difficulty for businesses. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the process of applying some lean practices in the production system at a textile industry located in João Pessoa/PB. The indicators proposed by Saurin and Ferreira (2008) were chosen. They present a qualitative evaluation of lean practices. To this end, interviews and systemic observation were used. As a result it was found that the adoption of lean practices provided some advantages to the organization, such as reducing waste and lead time. The company had a general grade of 6.53, highlighting the integration between the supply chain and standardized operations
