Reflexões sobre a prática farmacêutica hospitalar

Abstract

Hospital Pharmacy is an area of pharmaceutical activity whose primary objective is optimizing the results, efficacious, effective, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines. In this context, the present work proposes to contest the reality of hospital practice in a Hospital in the city of Parnamirim/RN, comparing it with the existing theoretical and legal foundations and raising questions pertinent to the theme. The methodology used was na observational study between theoretical references found in the literature and the autor’s internship experience plus the points of view of pharmacists from the hospital pharmacy of the Regional Hospital Deoclécio Marques de Lucena. As a result, it was possible to clearly perceive the distance from the literature to what the professional actually finds in hospital practice, discuss it, point out key aspects regarding the necessary changes and conclude that the quality of the services offered is more important than the quantity of it.
