Resumen
The study of an alternative method for heavy metal extraction Copper simulating an industrial effluent. The technique used for extraction of the aqueous phase was solvent extraction (liquid-liquid extraction) and the extracts used were mixtures between vegetable oils (soybean and corn) and kerosene. The concentration of the heavy metal copper and the absorbances were determined using the atomic absorption spectrometer equipment. Microsoft Office Excel 2007 software was used to compute curves and calculate the removal and percentage of metal removal. In the samples created in the laboratory were used 6 aqueous solutions of copper in the concentration of 50 ppm. The copper solution was mixed with kerosene and soybean or corn oil in separatory funnels. The best percentage of removal was 27%. The results show that higher extraction values are obtained when soybean oil is used, using an extruder / volume solution ratio of 0.333 and higher quantities of the kerosene extractant relative to the oil extract.
