Resumen
In Kennedy class IV rehabilitation with removable partial dentures (PPR), there may be esthetic compromise due to the appearance of retaining clips. An alternative to this is to plan a PPR with a rotational trajectory, considering that its main feature is the reduction of clamps, without losing the principles of retention, stability, and support. The present clinical case is about a patient with Kennedy class IV upper arch rehabilitated through a PPR with rotational trajectory. The planning consisted of rigid minor connectors on the mesial surfaces of the anterior abutments in a rectilinear path (rigid part), while circumferential clamps were planned on the posterior abutments, inserted through a rotation movement (flexible part). It is concluded that the treatment with PPR with the double axis of insertion and removal, allowed anesthetics with minimal preparation of the abutment teeth, in addition to reducing the accumulation of dental biofilm on the prosthesis due to the fact that it presents a lower coverage of Staples.
