Babassu oil can be considered an excellent raw material for the production of renewable hydrocarbons due to its composition, using expressive quantities of saturated substances with molecular chains, composed mostly of lauric (C12: 0) and myristic (C14: 0) acids, same range of fossil kerosene. The main industrial process for obtaining methyl ester is transesterification or alcohol of vegetable oils and short chain alcohol, in the presence of a catalyst, obtaining products, methyl ester and glycerin. Among the various types of catalysts found in the literature, materials that contain noble metals, such as Cu, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd and Pt, are most efficient for testing deoxygenation for carbonyl, carboxyl and hydroxyl compounds at temperatures between 250 and 450 ° C. In this mode, this work aims to produce methyl ester from babassu oil, analysis of effects of Pd/C on oil and non-babassu methyl ester by thermogravimetry and kinetic study for further process. of pyrolysis. To evaluate its viability for biofuels production, the techniques of specific mass, viscosity, acidity index, Fourier transform infrared, thermogravimetric analysis and kinetic study were used. Such as babassu oil, babassu oil, babassu oil, babassu oil, catalyst babassu oil and catalyst babassu oil, between 5 and 70% of the return values above 0.9 once demonstrating satisfactory adaptation from templates to process. Babassu metal ester has the lowest activation energy ranges (50.96-57.47 KJ/mol for the FWO method and 47.21-52.43 KJ/mol for the KAS method) and is considered the best bioproduct for the pyrolysis process.
