Resumen
In brazilian hospitals, according to current legislation, the milk dispensary is a sector linked to the nutrition and dietetics service, responsible for the safe preparation of infant formula, bottle filling, terminal sterilization and diet distribution. Therefore, considering the importance of offering a safe food to children, and that there are no specific Manuals of Good Manufacturing Practices (MGMP) for milk dispensary in all hospitals, the present work aims at the elaboration of a MGMP of the milk dispensary from a hospital located in Seridó, Rio Grande do Norte. To guide the elaboration of this document, a compilation of the updated legislation was carried out for the segment, and as a subsequent step, the physical and functional diagnosis of the milk dispensary of the hospital. After being produced, the MGMP was presented to the nutritionists of the Nutrition and Dietetics Service, so that modifications could be made according to the suggestions presented by them. As a result, the MGMP of the milk dispensary was made available to the Administration of Milk Dispensary and Enteral Nutrition, in digital and printed format, in a place where all professionals directly or indirectly involved in the production of infant formula had access to the document. The MGMP created, according to the future progress of its implementation, will guide the training cycles of employees and help in the standardization of work processes in the sector, thus contributing to the provision of nutritional therapy that can help in the recovery of the nutritional status of children treated at the Regional Dr. Mariano Coelho Hospital.
