Resumen
Technological advances in information and communication have given rise to innovative uses of the Internet as a global communication medium, bringing educational and science outreach programs to an international
level. As an example, the Virtual Visits to the ATLAS experiment, in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), use videoconferencing to remotely connect CERN researchers with high school teachers and students and common persons interested in participate as well. We report here an overview of the educational, technical and organizational aspects of the virtual tours in Brazil, especially in Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Norte, with their unique-value added, since they combine
non-formal education with social inclusion, since every school, and every interested person, is encouraged to participate
