The literacy practices are materialized through written texts that reflect the way in which we make use this writing that establishes itself in literacy events whether implemented at school or in other places also responsible for human development. Thereby, Literacy Studies conquered visibility of spaces in recent years by addressing discussions focused on the actual use of language in different situations of interaction. Therefore, let us take as a research subject the literacy events promoted by ministrant professionals classes that make up the curriculum of the training course for motherhood, this is destined to pregnant women assisted by the Centro de Referência e Assistência Social - CRAS. In these terms, we have adopted as main objective to analyze the literacy practices of the Professional‟s team who teach the course, from proposing the categories proposed by Hamilton (2000), which comprise: participants, domain, artifacts and activities. The proposed research is situated within the Applied Linguistics to establish a focus on the intelligibility of social issues that include the use of language (MOITA LOPES, 2006). In theory, we anchor to the theoretical postulates of the Studies of literacy, especially those presented of Hamilton (2000); Heart (1993); Street (1995); Barton (1993); Oliveira (2010) which conceive the literacy as a social practice. In the scope of the labor literacy we based in Studies of PAZ (2008) and with regard to the theory of Genres, elected on grounds the contributions offered by Bakhtin (1997). In terms of methodology follows a qualitative approach to ethnographic data base Bogdan and Biklen (1994); Erickson (1986) and Chizzotti (2006). The corpus of the research was generated from the participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires with open and closed questions and conversations wheels. The employees are professionals who teach classes and pregnant women are participants of the course. The analysis indicates a significant contribution of literacy practices promoted by the professional‟s team when it comes to collaborating with maternal education of pregnant women, both with regard to precautions to be taken during the pregnancy, and after childbirth and during the early stages of baby development. The relevance of this research reside in the provided subsidies for the expansion of issues relating to language studies as a social practice with a focus on literacy in labor spheres and even in the fact of addressing thematic little contemplated by contemporary publications that deal with the Literacy Studies.
