Resumen
The Brazilian semi-arid region has a climate ranging from sub-humid to semi-arid, which is marked by the scarcity and irregularity of rainfall associated with high evaporation rate. Although it is difficult to find water in liquid form, water is present in the atmosphere even in small quantities in gas form. This work aimed to build a compact device that uses the Peltier system to produce water through the condensation of water vapor present in atmospheric air. The device has a compact aluminum structure shaped like a wind tunnel, Peltier chip, aluminum heatsinks, computer coolers, fan, submersible pumps, automotive evaporator, silicone tubes, power supply and thermometers, water and ethylene glycol. The production costs of the device were around R$800.00, the average condensate production was around 100 ml for five hours of operation with the average relative humidity around 60% and the dew point temperature around 22 ° C.
