| dc.description | The authors study the ductal plate and its relationship to the development of the intrahepatic biliary system. Some aspects of the process are highlighted, such as ductalplate formation and its temporal relationship to several stages in the formation of thebiliary system. The authors emphasize the role of immunohistochemistry markers,such as cytokeratines, in the study and understanding of hepato-biliary embryologicaldevelopment. The comprehension of these aspects is important for the understandingof the genesis of some pathological entities which affect the biliary tract, such asbiliary atresia and congenital fibrosis. | en-US |
