Os cuidados paliativos na promoção a saúde: proposta de intervenção

This research had the approach of the palliative care concept and the training of the caretakers that are willing to take care of patients in terminal stage. It presents the history, definitions about the importance of palliative care, the training and the concept of taking care of patients in the end of their lives. Through the methodological course it was the qualitative research through intervention proffer that included the training of the caretakers that care for people in a terminal stage. An indicative theoretical reference to the theme was searched in the database of SciELO and Lilacs. The overall goal indicates the training of caregivers who look after the customers who are part of the home care program Unimed Lafaiete Advisor to work in palliative care. The intervention proffer points the importance of the professional training of the caretakers and even the necessity of maintaining the training of people that are willing to take care of those in palliative care; it has the intent of avoiding unnecessary practices and helps keep comfort for the family and gives quality to the patients in the process of dying. Finally, palliative care recommends the service in the final stage of life of people with the intention of giving dignity to the patient in the process of death.
