Resumen
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that affects more women worldwide. Most cases are diagnosed in advanced stages of the disease, when the possibility of treatment is limited. Only with early detection and treatment performed early in the development of breast cancer, there is a good increase in survival and consequently decreases the possibility of death.. The aim of this study was to identify factors that lead to the diagnosis of breast cancer in advanced stages By reviewing professional support interventions and propose strategies to reduce the number of women with high mammographic changes and discoveries of breast cancer in advanced stages. It was concluded that unfortunately the late diagnosis of breast cancer is prevailing in relation to early detection. Despite all the publicity and importance of the subject, what more was observed during the literature search were delays in finding breast cancer, resulting in a lower chance of cure and shorter survival of the affected population. Found to cause delays in diagnosis delay between the discovery of the nodule and the first consultation with a specialist, the lack of information between the patient about the disease and early diagnosis and lack of training of health professionals on the implementation of clinical examination. The black race and lower socioeconomic status, were also reported as reasons for delays in both the diagnosis and treatment of disease, compared to those of Caucasians and higher socioeconomic status. It is hoped that the results of this study, most health actions may be established for the prevention and control of breast cancer in primary care and that professionals may be aware of early diagnosis.
