dc.description.abstractObjective: The objective of this study was to conduct a review of the literature with the aim of evaluating the available evidence on the balance training and other therapeutic modalities in the prevention of falls in elderly patients. Methods: The literature search was conducted on Medline, Pubmed and Lilacs in the last five years. Development: We performed a detailed review of three randomized clinical trials. Conclusion: Through this narrative review we suggest further studies to obtain a consensus on the most effective treatment modality with regard to the methodology used and the time of treatment of elderly fallers.
