This dissertation analyzes the training of school managers in the Specializations Course in School Management that is part of Programme Managers school of Basic Education at the Montes Claros presential supporting pole in the form of distance education. The aim of the research was to verify the objective and subjective conditions for the realization of the course and their work as provided by the Municipal Education Departments to the school managers. The main goals of this research were to analyze the implications of the continued education through distance education modality, in administrative routine and in the pedagogical practice of school managers of the Specialization Course in School Management and to also identify and analyze the possible difficulties in the implementation of the refereed course as encountered by the Municipal Education Departments at the presential supporting pole of Montes Claros. The object of study were the School Managers and Municipal Directors of Education involved in this process at the presential supporting pole of Montes Claros, which covers about 20 municipalities. For this purpose, were interviewed graduates from the course offered by UFMG in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and Municipal Directors of Education: three municipal managers of education and four graduates managers). The collected data are discussed through three chapters, in which are covered: the educational public policies in order to understand the set of educational public policies adopted in our country and the government actions that guided the design and the formation of the Specialization Course in School Management and its implementation. It was also addressed the continued education of school managers in a democratic management perspective, the factors that facilitate or hinder this formation in distance education mode and spaces and times of the managers in its continued formation processes. To understand the problem in the light of the principles that govern democratic management, the state's role and responsibilities of the federate entities in the offering of continued education to school managers, especially having as support the new information technologies through distance education is primordial to improve the work of professionals who act as leaders in the educational process.
